Las palabras de Mr. North en el S3f
El premio nobel de Economía Douglas North, de 91 años, no podrá dar la conferencia que tenía preparada para el S3f por prescripción médica debido a una dolencia pulmonar.
Mr. North nos ha enviado sus palabras, las que había escrito para preparar la conferencia, tratando así de compensar su baja de última hora. Sus palabras se leerán en el acto que sustituirá al suyo, una conferencia de Deirdre McCloskey. La conferencia tratará sobre por qué la Economía no puede explicar por si sola lo que ha pasado en el mundo en el pasado reciente.

For 4 days, 60 experts talking about how to resolve the crisis. FEDEA presents S3F
Foundation for Applied Economic Studies, FEDEA, organizes and invites you to participate in the 1st edition of the international event Salamanca Social Science Festival, S3F. This is an unprecedented experience in Spain that will transform the center of Salamanca in a meeting of the global economy, where experts will discuss the economic situation and possible solutions to the crisis. We have three Nobel laureate in economics, Douglass North (1993), Finn Kydland (2004) and Eric Maskin (2007) and relevant national and international experts on the current scene.
S3F born with the purpose of involving society in the discussion of our economic situation. It is a fully participatory initiative which has asked experts in each area of the economy that make an effort to make available their arguments and which gives voice to all those attending. This is also why the program is full of discussions, face to face, round tables, etc.., Where we want to raise all points of view. And for this reason we have been invited not only experts, also businessmen, journalists and representatives of the 15M. S3F is not a Scientific Congress, it is an event for discussion and dissemination of the economy at the highest level in a very special moment in our economic history.
Fedea is an independent foundation established 25 years ago, who tries to set links between academia and the needs and demands of the Spanish society.
